Cutting tool is a thin special wire with fine diamond or CBN grains that runs at a high speed.
The wire forms an endless loop. It is routed via a system of deflection rollers and is therefore able to work at high cutting speeds. Matching any application, a variety of cutting materials with different grain sizes and concentrations are available. The narrow cutting width results in less waste, lower heat development and lower energy consumption, turning this cutting technology into a highly efficient and economic solution.
Due to the multi-directional cutting effect of the diamond wire, any type of contour can be cut, provided the inner radius is larger than the radius of the wire itself. This cutting technique is suitable even for cutting sensitive materials. High cutting speed in combination with low driving forces require only minimum wire tension. High centrifugal forces, resulting from high speeds and bedning of the wire at the deflection rollers result in a self-cleaning effect which leads to the superior service life of the cutting tool.
